Blog Post #1
Being a freshman in college is a lot like being a
freshman in high-school. You are forced to step outside of your comfort zone and
transition to a lifestyle different from the one you are accustomed to. It feels
different being away from your parents and understanding that every decision you
make has an even bigger impact on your life.UTOP is a program designed to aid in
the transition from high-school to college and also help you build bonds and
connections that will last a lot longer than the 5 week program. From the course
English 1101 I expect to learn how to better revise and reflect on my writing,
and also understanding how my writing has an effect on my environment as a
whole. I can improve my writing by understanding how to better structure and
revise it. My strengths in writing are my passion and also my motivation to
express myself. The writing assignment I am most proud about is a poem I wrote
in 9th grade about America called "Is it just a flag". In order for me to make
UTOP and this course successful I will need to fully engage in everything I do
inside and outside of the classroom. This includes stepping outside of my
comfort zone and expanding my horizons. Things I'm most excited by right
now:

Dominique, I'd love to know more how you define being beautiful? What does that mean to you?
ReplyDeleteBeauty is more than meets the eye. Of course it is human nature to judge people first by the way that they look, but when you examine the inside of people (emotion, personality, character) is when you truly differentiate between the beautifuls and the uglies!!
ReplyDeleteSo, what is a beautiful personality? A beautiful character?
ReplyDeleteWhere is your 2nd blog post?
I posted it a few days ago!!
